WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?
Reflexology is an extremely effective modality that has carved an impressive niche in the field of complementary medicine. It involves a specific type of touch therapy based on the principals that there are reflex points on the feet, hands and outer ears that relate to different body organs and body systems.
The premise is that working these points will effect beneficial physiological changes to occur within the body.It is a non-invasive holistic healing technique that is both a Science and an Art. It is a science because it is based on physiological and neurological study, but it is also an art because much depends on how skillfully the therapist applies his or her knowledge. Reflexology is recognized by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. It is considered a valuable therapy in many hospitals, hospices and Cancer Centers as it provides pain management, relief of symptoms and provides for better quality of health and life. Recently, Dr. Oz and Oprah have helped the general public to become acquainted with this wonderful modality that supports the body's ability to relax, restore and renew itself.
HOW DOES REFLEXOLOGY WORK?
Did you know that 75% of all illnesses are stress related?
Chemical blockages can accumulate around the nerve endings that inhibit the body's ability to send clear messages back and forth to the brain. Reflexology helps to break up those blockages by using the application of pressure from the thumb and fingers to strike reflex maps in the feet, hands and outer ears. Reflexology promotes relaxation of the central nervous system helping to reduce the effects of physical and emotional stress on the body allowing it to come back into a state of normalization and balance so that you can experience a higher quality of life and deeper state of health.
Chantal and Rigby are a husband and wife team of Certified Reflexologist’s. Both received their Professional Reflexology Certifications from the American Academy of Reflexology (AAR) in California, a state licensed and nationally accredited school.
They are proficient in “The Flocco Method” which focuses on integration of the feet, hands and outer ears combined with priority and progression reflexing. They have observed that working with all three systems is more effective than working on just one system. Chantal and Rigby have been applying this method with great success and have become affiliated with the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation and The Caring Place in Las Vegas, where they provide Reflexology services to those individuals who have been touched by cancer.
Chantal Magaruh has been involved in alternative health therapies since 1994. Chantal also holds degrees in Environmental Science and Business Management along with a minor in Psychology. She believes her skill and experience in Reflexology, along with her knowledge of science and psychology provides the perfect combination to assist individuals on their path to health.
Rigby Ough became interested in reflexology in order to manage his low back pain resulting from damage to his sciatic nerve. After receiving a series of sessions and experiencing such positive results he also became interested in pursuing an education in the field. Rigby believes that reflexology is an all encompassing technique designed to maximize the body’s potential to rejuvenate itself whenever faced with dis-ease or normal daily stresses.
